MCH Sweet 16 - Important Updates Inside! 🎉

Your Travel & Music Escape Awaits

We are less than two weeks away from the highly anticipated MCH Sweet 16, and we couldn't be more excited! Here are your registration details, some travel tips and important updates to ensure you have an incredible experience:

Hotel Update: Hotel guests will now be staying at the Royalton Havana

The Royalton Havana provides a unique experience, combining modern amenities with the authentic charm of Havana. Its prime location ensures that you’ll be immersed in the local culture while enjoying all the conveniences this top-tier hotel offers.

Registration Details: Join us at Mad Radio for registration on Wednesday, October 9th, from 7 PM to 9 PM. (7700 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL)

During registration, you will receive:

  • Visas and Charter flight information provided by Invicta Group Services for your journey to Cuba, departing on Thursday at 1 PM EST.

  • Return flight information from Cuba on Tuesday at 3 PM EST.

  • Your official MCH Sweet 16 T-shirt.

  • Last-minute updates and essential event details.

  • Warm smiles and a cool cafe to eat and meet

Urgent Reminder for Passport Submission: If you have not yet submitted a copy of your passport, please do so by September 30, 2024. Failing to meet this deadline may result in delays or complications with your travel arrangements.

To submit your passport, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit the secure form: Passport Submission Form

  2. Complete the form with the required information.

  3. Upload a clear and legible color photo of your passport (maximum 9MB). Ensure that the photo has a plain background and displays all passport details.

Wednesday Night Oct. 09: Miami Send-Off Event @ Mad Radio (9pm-3am) — Start the journey with a vibrant event in Miami (Hotel not included) .Lineup: DJ D'Luxe, Bear Who?, Aladdin, DJ UZO, Julius the Mad Thinker + more!

Thursday Arrival Oct. 10: Check into your hotel or private residence. Experience scenic drives, historic landmarks, and a classic car ride. Wear your most creative outfit or T-shirt for an explosive MCH Exprésate (8pm - 2am) celebration on your first night at Fabrica de Arte! DJ Lineup TBA

Friday Day Oct. 11: Journey to Viñales — Located in the Pinar del Río province, Vinales is known for being one of the most famous regions for tobacco farming in the world. Choose between an engaging cigar farm tour or a scenic horseback ride, followed by a delicious farm-to-table meal overlooking the beautiful scenery. Get ready!

Saturday Day Oct. 12, Havana's Cultural Immersion: Rum tasting to a dance session w/ Orisha House Project, who merge Cuban-Afro tradition with global street dance. You’ll learn the history of Cuban-Afro Yoruba chants and beats we hear so often in the music of artists like Osunlade, Jose Marquez and more!

Saturday Night: Oct. 12 @ Espacios Creativos: Wear your favorite kicks for a Global Soul Music Experience and Sneaker Ball! Lineup: DJ Reitt y Shanara, Cuquer, DJ Black Spot, Julius the Mad Thinker and a special performance by the Orisha House Project.

Sunday: Varadero Oct. 13 — After an action-packed few days, we'll make a meaningful stop at Callejón de Hamel, a vibrant cultural landmark that celebrates Cuban-Afro heritage through stunning murals and artistic expression, before escaping to Varadero.

Monday Oct. 14 @ Royalton Hicacos: Get ready for our signature beach experience ft. Turntables on the Caribbean (12pm-6:30pm), where music meets paradise. Lineup: Nickodemus, Eddy Plenty, Nappy G, DJ Jigue, Landeep + more!

Tuesday Day Oct. 15: As MCH Sweet 16 comes to a close, join us in Miami for one last dance! Let’s celebrate the Mi Casa Moments we've created and the connections we've made before sailing off into the sunset. Location and artists TBA.

Calling all artists!

Special Note for Artists: We're excited about the upcoming "State of the Industry" facilitated conversation, where we'll discuss current trends, challenges, and opportunities in the arts. This facilitated session is a chance to connect with fellow artists, exchange ideas, and foster collaboration.

As a way to give back to the Cuban Community, please consider bringing extra headphones, chords, paint brushes, or any other art supplies that you think may be useful to other artists. Let's share our resources and inspire each other!

Sneaker donations + more!

We are thrilled to collaborate with the Orisha House Project, who will be co-hosting the Sneaker Ball on Saturday night. Please consider bringing an extra pair of sneakers to donate to local, hard-working dancers in need (new or like new preferably), along with the following items suggested by Orisha House Project:

  • Sneakers for men or women (preferably red, white, or blue)

  • White clothing (new or gently used)

  • Used video or photographic cameras, cell phones, tablets, or laptops

  • Vitamins and basic (unopened) medicines like Ibuprofen, Benadryl, and Tylenol
